The time had finally come - I had long planned to jog a longer distance and enjoy the beauty of nature in my neighbourhood. And so I decided to choose a route that took me around the three lakes in our region: Lake Biel, Lake Murten and Lake Neuchâtel.
The day began with perfect running weather - a pleasant 13 degrees Celsius and a light breeze that freshened the air. I put on my running shoes, put on my headphones, packed my running rucksack with glucose and water and set off. My blood sugar was still 12.3mmol/l before the start. A little high, but I personally find this pleasant before exercise.
While running, I was able to enjoy nature to the full. Along the paths I saw green meadows, tall trees and the occasional farm. But the highlight was definitely the cows, who looked after me curiously as I ran past their pastures. It was as if they were cheering me on and encouraging me to keep going. This was also necessary as I had never run such a distance before.

As you might have guessed, not everything went smoothly. Part of the route led over gravel paths and that was hard on my knee. After all, it was my first such long run and my body first had to get used to it. But I wasn't discouraged. With every step I took, I felt stronger and more motivated to reach my goal.
When I finally reached the 16-kilometre mark and left the last lake behind me, I felt relieved. My first long run was a complete success and I felt more alive and energised than ever.
Looking back, I can say that this run was not only a physical challenge, but also a mental one. It taught me that with perseverance and willpower, you can achieve practically any goal you set yourself. And it showed me how important it is to appreciate the beauty of nature and enjoy the little things in life.
So, next time you're looking for a challenge or just want to get away from it all, grab your running shoes and explore the great outdoors - it's definitely worth it!
I hope my little report has inspired and motivated you. See you on your next running adventure!
Happy running!
